To all LS Boy’s Youth Lacrosse Families;
Registration for all 2012 Spring lacrosse programs is now open. You will be receiving additional details from the coordinator of each grade in the coming weeks. However, I want to give you a quick outline of the program for this year.
Winter 2012 skills sessions: A wide range of off-season opportunities are available through Federation Lacrosse, Quality Lacrosse, and Laxachusetts depending on your individual situation. If you have tried out for and made the Laxachusetts program, you will receive direct communication from them regarding practice times. For an additional off-season tournament team opportunity you can contact me directly for more information on Quality Lacrosse or go to www.QualityLacrosse.com . If you would like to participate in skills development sessions you can go to www.FederationLacrosse.com for more information and to register.
2012 Cost Structure: For 2012 there will be a couple of small changes to the base programs for everyone.
-
The base cost for each grade level program will remain the same as last year;
-
K, 1st, and 2nd grades: $135
-
3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades: $280
-
Note: There will be a $50 late fee assessed for registration entered after January 31, 2012.
-
Everyone will receive a new pair of Under Armour game shorts as part of their 2012 fees. As part of the registration process you will select the size that you want. The sizing is similar to the custom sublimated shorts that were available to purchase last year. Youth shorts have an 8.5in inseam and adults have a 10in inseam.
-
All registration forms for all grade levels will now have their US Lacrosse membership registration or renewals integrated into the LS Lax registration process. IF you need to register for US Lacrosse for the first time or IF you need to renew your US Lacrosse membership to cover the LS Lax spring season, you will need to pay US Lacrosse separately. As part of the registration process you will be automatically connected to the US Lacrosse website, complete that registration or renewal, and then be automatically connected back to our website to complete your regular program registration. You may have to enter your credit card information separately in each website. But, if your US Lacrosse membership has already been renewed through your participation in an off season club or camp program, your membership expiration may be past the end of our season and you will not have to pay to renew it in order to participate in the LS Lax spring season. In the long term this will make the process much more efficient and cost effective for everyone.
Note: The above cost structures include everything associated with supporting each individual team, their coaching, their league schedules, coach’s gifts, and any other miscellaneous expenses associated with the season.
****Important******The base program cost does not cover the cost of a uniform jersey/reversible. The uniform reversibles will be identical to last year. If you need a new one, you need to purchase one through the on-line store on the website.

Ø Games will be on Saturday mornings
Ø Two practices per week – One on Tuesday and one on Thursday

Ø Two practices per week – Tuesday and Thursday
Ø Two regional tournaments – TPL Kick Off Tournament @ LS and Umass Garber Invitational.
6th grade Braves, 7th grade Warriors, and 8th grade Colts Tournament Teams – Cost: $100
The rosters for these teams are built through selective tryouts. Participation on these teams comes with an expectation that lacrosse is the player’s primary spring sport, as well as a more demanding travel and competitive game and tournament schedule. The tournament schedule for all of these teams is currently being developed. However, the schedule as a general rule will include 2 to 3 away events and one home tournament/JAM. The 7th grade Warriors and the 8th grade Colts will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays. Note: There is an extra cost for the tournament teams to cover the extra costs from tournament entries and other associated costs with these events.
If you have questions with anything described above, please don’t hesitate to email me.
Thanks
